We Can Change The World
Today we’d like to introduce you to OGUNADE OLASUNKANMI ADESANYA.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
I am SunkyOG ( Olasunkanmi Ogunade), a professional visual artist/photographer, and basically into media production, digital marketing, and content creation. I am a Ph.D. candidate and also taking some other professional courses by the side. I love the arts and it’s an avenue for me to always express myself deeply. I tell stories with my colors and perspectives. I have been in the arts and media business for a decade and as a creative, you keep aiming for perfection. Had my photography exhibition which I tagged ” the vignettes of co-existence” where I focused on body shaming issues and cyberbullying. These are major factors for depression and death in our society today. I wanted to explain the pain an individual faces when you body shame them. It was a huge success.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Nothing comes easy as the adage says, you gotta work hard for everything. One of the major stumbling blocks was acceptance. It is very difficult as a creative for you to break in and get your style accepted. It takes time and adequate consistency. Another issue is people just write you off and don’t respect your art, clients wanna undercharge and compare you to other people right under your nose, and lastly, keeping up with the fast-moving trend is another issue.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I specialize in ultra-modern portraits and colors, I love to stay natural as much as possible and play with elements. Every time I get the chance to create a work of art with models or other elements, I like to keep it abstract, contemporary, and modern. one of the elements that make me stand out is that I love to listen to my subjects and relate. I am not an island and will definitely want to keep you involved every step of the way.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Keep going and never stop. The universe listens to every wish you make. Don’t stop and remember, there is time for everything and everyone
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success is subjective. Success to me is internal joy, comfort, and impact. Success to me is helping refugees all over the world, the physically challenged, the voiceless, and the weak. It is being able to become an authority for change, be super comfortable to the point where I can help thousands of people, and not be broke.
What’s next for you?
Continue to grow my brand, expand, work with more amiable clients and maximize profit.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
