At the heart of New York’s cultural landscape, the Ukrainian Institute of America became the setting for an evening that blended art, compassion, and purpose. The Charity Art Exhibition by Anna Zaiachkivska was not simply an artistic gathering—it was a deeply meaningful event dedicated to hope, resilience, and the power of community.
Held on April 15, the exhibition brought together creatives, philanthropists, and members of the Ukrainian diaspora in New York, all united by a shared mission: to support three-year-old Alina Syrotiuk, who is currently in a coma. Organized in collaboration with UNWLA Branch 64 and AUA “Self Reliance,” the event directed 40% of proceeds toward Alina’s care, transforming every artwork into a symbol of life and support.

The atmosphere of the evening was both elegant and emotional. Guests were welcomed into a thoughtfully curated space where each piece of art seemed to carry a story—of identity, of struggle, and of beauty born from resilience. Soft lighting, intimate conversations, and the quiet admiration of the works created a sense of unity that extended far beyond the walls of the gallery.
At the center of it all was Anna Zaiachkivska herself—an artist whose journey reflects both creative brilliance and inner strength. Known not only as a painter but also as Miss World Ukraine and an actress, Anna has long embodied a rare combination of artistic sensitivity and public presence. Her work often explores themes of femininity, transformation, and emotional depth, drawing viewers into a space where art becomes a language of healing.
Anna’s transition from the world of pageantry to fine art is particularly compelling. While many know her for her beauty and elegance on the global stage, it is through her paintings that she reveals her most authentic voice. Her art is introspective yet universal—inviting each viewer to reflect, to feel, and ultimately, to connect.
This exhibition, titled “Live Again,” was especially symbolic. It wasn’t just about showcasing talent; it was about using that talent as a force for good. In a world where art is often seen as a luxury, Anna redefined it as a necessity—something that can inspire action, bring people together, and quite literally change lives.
Events like this also highlight the growing cultural presence of the Ukrainian community in New York. The Ukrainian Institute of America has long served as a hub for intellectual and artistic exchange, and this evening reinforced its role as a place where tradition meets modern expression, and where art becomes a bridge between cultures.
What made the exhibition truly unforgettable was not only the quality of the artworks but the intention behind them. Every brushstroke, every canvas, and every conversation carried a deeper meaning. It was a reminder that even in the most challenging times, beauty and kindness continue to exist—and that together, they can create something powerful.
As guests left the event, there was a shared sense that they had experienced something more than an exhibition. They had witnessed art in its most meaningful form: as a tool for compassion, a source of hope, and a quiet yet profound act of giving.
