With two decades of experience in esthetics, New York skincare specialist Kamilla Gleyzer is preparing for her next chapter: launching her own cosmetics brand.
A beauty business begins with expertise, but its longevity depends on something more personal: trust. For Kamilla Gleyzer, that relationship has been central to a career spent helping clients understand their skin and feel more confident in their appearance.
A graduate of Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics, Gleyzer describes approximately 20 years of practice as a New York licensed esthetician. Her work in Brooklyn’s Mill Basin neighborhood brings together personalized facial care and contemporary skincare technologies. Now, as she begins building her own cosmetics brand, she is taking a step from offering services toward creating products.
We explore the experience behind her work, the responsibilities of entrepreneurship, and the thinking that will shape her next chapter.
The US Times: What first drew you to skincare?
Kamilla Gleyzer: The connection between how people look and how they feel. Skincare is personal. Someone may come in with a concern about their complexion, but behind that concern there is often frustration or uncertainty. I wanted to become the person who could listen, explain, and help them approach their skin with more confidence.
My education gave me a foundation. Working with clients taught me how much attention and patience this profession requires.
The US Times: How has your approach developed over the years?
Kamilla Gleyzer: I began my career working in a Manhattan spa, and that experience helped me understand both the service side of the industry and the expectations clients bring with them. As I continued learning, I became increasingly interested in individualized care.
Today, I look at the person in front of me rather than simply choosing a treatment from a menu. I want to understand their concerns, their routine, and what they hope to achieve. That conversation matters.
The US Times: Your practice combines hands-on care with technology. How do you find the balance?
Kamilla Gleyzer: Technology offers valuable options, but judgment remains essential. My practice includes services such as deep-cleansing facials, DiamondGlow, microneedling, and light-based treatments. Choosing an appropriate approach requires careful attention to the individual.
A sophisticated device is only one part of the experience. Clients also need clear explanations, realistic expectations, and thoughtful guidance.
The US Times: What has building your own business taught you?
Kamilla Gleyzer: That professional skill and entrepreneurship are connected, but they require different kinds of discipline. As a specialist, you concentrate on the client. As a business owner, you also think about consistency, organization, and the standard you want your name to represent.
I have learned to take both responsibilities seriously. A beautiful experience should be supported by careful work behind the scenes.
The US Times: You are now beginning your own cosmetics brand. Why is this the right next step?
Kamilla Gleyzer: It is an exciting opportunity to bring my professional perspective into a new form. After years of working directly with clients, I am ready to explore what I can create beyond the treatment room.
The brand is a new chapter, and I want to approach it thoughtfully. Having my name connected to a product carries responsibility. It should reflect the care and attention that people associate with my work.
The US Times: What would you like that brand to stand for?
Kamilla Gleyzer: Trust, clarity, and a considered approach to beauty. Those are the values I want to carry into its development.
I want people to feel comfortable asking questions about their skincare and making informed choices. As the brand takes shape, that relationship with the customer will be important to me.
The US Times: What does success look like to you now?
Kamilla Gleyzer: Continuing to grow while remaining connected to the reason I started. I am proud of the experience I have built, but I still have the curiosity to learn and the ambition to create something new.
Launching a brand is a significant step. For me, success will mean building it with the same commitment that has guided my practice: attention to detail, respect for the client, and pride in the work.
