“Internally, that felt egotistical and not who I wanted to be,” he admits. Even today, marketing remains one of the biggest challenges in scaling his vision. Yet it’s precisely his authenticity—his unwillingness to reduce leadership coaching to a slick sales pitch—that has resonated with clients and led to steady growth.


The Leap: Leaving Safety for Purpose

The turning point came when referrals began pouring in faster than Edwards could manage while juggling a full-time job. The growing demand forced a decision: stay safe, or go all in.

“I set a date, quit my job, and committed fully,” Edwards says. That decisive moment marked the beginning of a new chapter—not just for him, but for the leaders he has since guided toward greater results and lasting impact.


Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Define, Start, Persist

Edwards distills his entrepreneurial philosophy into three deceptively simple steps:

  1. Define your destination. “You have to know what you want. What will success look like?”

  2. Get started. “There is no success without action.”

  3. Don’t stop. “Resistance always precedes results. It will be difficult, but you must keep going.”

It’s a framework he not only teaches but lives by—reminding would-be entrepreneurs that momentum, not perfection, is what drives transformation.


Rethinking Balance: Mastery Over Myth

When asked about work-life balance, Edwards rejects the cliché outright. “Balance is a myth,” he says. “The goal is mastery. The key is to be fully present where you are.”

For Edwards, burnout doesn’t come from hard work but from losing clarity and purpose. His strategy: invest in the mind and spirit. “Learn something new every day, be intentional about where you invest time and energy, and add value to every conversation.”

In his view, winning in business but failing at home is the ultimate failure. Presence, not hours logged, is what sustains both success and fulfillment.


Looking Ahead: A Book and a Podcast

The future looks ambitious for My Leadership Coach. Edwards’ upcoming book, Big Dream, Small Steps, set for release soon, challenges leaders to envision greater possibilities and equips them with practical strategies to achieve them.

In fall 2025, he’ll also launch Leading Forward, a podcast exploring leadership through the lens of faith. Featuring business owners and entrepreneurs who credit faith as the cornerstone of their success, the show aims to inspire a new generation of leaders to blend conviction with commerce.
