Rap Artist Lady Raw On The Rise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Raw.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I am a female rap artist in Savannah, Georgia. I go by the pseudonym of Lady Raw. I have had a love for music since I was a little girl. I grew up listening to all genres of music. Rap music was by far my favorite outside of gospel. When I was about 9 years old; I started writing poetry. That is when I grasped that I could put different words together and make them rhyme. When I started adding my words to music it all made sense. It was one of those “aha” moments for me that made me realize I am supposed to be an artist. Getting to where I am today has taken a lot of sweat equity. I had to put in hard work. Long hours writing lyrics, listening to music, creating, and developing myself as an artist

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

You are correct, success has not come easy for me. One challenge that I have had to face in pursuit of a career in the music industry is me being taken seriously as an artist. As a female rap artist, we don’t always get the recognition that we deserve. We must be 10 times harder just to get noticed. One of the greatest challenges of all that I had to face was back in 2017. This was the year that I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. On October 8th, 2017, one of my brothers was killed. This hit me hard, and my focus was off. Fortunately, I was able to turn my pain into my passion and I started putting all my emotions into my music. So, when I am writing and creating it comes from my heart.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

As I mentioned previously, I am a rap artist but not only am I an artist, I am a producer and an engineer. I specialize in creating good music. I believe that my work ethics speak for itself when I work with someone in the studio; I bring my A game. My music is my passion and not my hobby so if someone chooses to work with me it is because I am a professional and I know how to handle business

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The best advice that I could give is to never listen to the voice of other people when pursuing your dreams. It is your dream listening to your own voice and whatever you do never stop going after your dream

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success for me means “Freedom” to do what I love to do as well as building a legacy for my family.

What’s next for you?

I have a new single coming out titled “Swap” that’s featuring the rap artist “Bow Wow”. I have also completed a music collaboration” Bank” through my label “Bentley Records” with the rap artist “Soulja Boy”. In fourth quarter of this year, I will be releasing a 5 song EP.
