New York Native Entrepreneur, Angela Williams Transforms Generational Struggles Into Dreams & Goals!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Williams.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Well I think my story really started in 2011 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That year I went from thinking that my life was over to realizing that I had an opportunity to restart my life and refresh my mind. When you realize you have an opportunity to make positive changes in your life, you start to see your dreams and develop new goals. That’s kind of what happened to me. When I started thinking positive, I suddenly had new dreams to pursue. I always want to be wanted to be an entrepreneur. I grew up in the Hamptons, New York around lots of successful and wealthy people. I was consistently inspired! Positive thinking helped me beat cancer, then my life literally changed in what seemed, overnight! I realized the power of positive thinking and that gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams. I set goals and told myself that if I didn’t try, I couldn’t have any expectations.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Oh, I’ve had several challenges over the years. Besides my cancer experience, I’ve become a full time caregiver for my father who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Epilepsy. The struggle of trying to balance my career with my family obligations hasn’t been easy but with some adjustments here and there, I’ve been managing better than I thought I would.

Since the many (too many to count) surgeries I’ve had over the years, there’s an ongoing struggle with weight due to the hormone changes in my body. It’s something I didn’t expect but I’m always learning ways to keep it under control. I’m always aware of what I put into my body and my stress level. The saying is true that “You are what you eat”, and I’m a firm believer of “when you look good you feel good”.
I’m a weight loss and body contouring specialist so I encourage a healthy diet, exercise, and ways to maintain a healthy weight. My experiences have certainly taught me that there’s nothing I can’t overcome!

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m an Aesthetician specializing in weight loss and body contouring. I transform the busy women that does everything for everyone but herself into the woman that loves on herself as much as she loves on others. I help change the insecure woman into the powerful, confident and beautiful woman she was always meant to be. Women have to remember that Confidence is the key. In a world full of superficial beauty, people forget that what’s inside of you will show on the outside. The way you carry yourself will tell people how secure and confident you are within. I have a strong belief in empowering other women. I feel that’s part of why I’m here. You can work with another company that may offer similar services but what happens once your hour session is over? With me, it’s an entire program that you sign up for. You have a team available to you in many different areas. If you need a nutritionist, healthy grocery list, a personal trainer, or an accountability group, we can provide all of that. What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My advice would be to never give up on your dreams. Throughout the most difficult times of my life, I managed to find the light and continue to focus on my journey.
Having support is a very important piece as well. The support from my kids (adults now) have been nothing less than amazing! My goal is to try my best to make sure their adult life isn’t a struggle, instead it should consist of different levels of achievements. Focusing on your goals means to live your dreams. I want them to be able to pursue their dreams and know that I’ve instilled a roadmap to confidence and strength that will allow them to reach their goals easier than it was for generations before them. They are two very intelligent and independent individuals that I know will succeed in all that they desire in life.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

To me, success means to achieve a result that’s greater than your personal average. It doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s better than your average, it’s success. In all that I’ve done throughout my life, I have always just wanted to make my life better in different areas. When I had cancer, I was determined to make sure that my life was better with a positive attitude. With my kids I tried to make sure they knew that they always have the ability to make the necessary changes in life that they want to achieve whatever level of success they desire. My father always told me that if I could see myself in a particular position then that means there’s a way that I can put myself there. I’ve always known what I was capable of. Being confident and determined is always key!

What’s next for you?

I have so many plans for the future! My goal is to franchise Divine Shapers once its fully operating as a weight loss center. I’d love to have locations in multiple states.
I also have plans to open a home health Agency because I realize there’s other caretakers that need help so that they don’t have to choose between their own career or their loved ones care. Both are certainly full time jobs but we cannot forget about ourselves while taking care of others. Our needs in life are important so I want to be able to offer services to other families that are having difficulties with time management or even getting caregiver services. The agency is definitely in the works!
