Kelly Wright: A Beacon of Hope in Broadcast Journalism

Kelly Wright, an Emmy award-winning journalist and celebrated voice in the media industry, is a seasoned anchor, recording artist, and ordained minister who has built a career on the foundation of faith, resilience, and hope. With a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts from Oral Roberts University and an honorary doctorate from Northwest University, Wright has become a prominent figure in journalism, known for his ability to inspire and connect diverse audiences.

Wright’s career is defined by his commitment to telling stories that uplift and unite. His work consistently reflects a deep passion for exploring the human experience and fostering understanding among communities. From covering global crises to interviewing world leaders, Wright uses journalism as a tool to shine a light on hope amid challenges.

A New Chapter with CBN News

Recently, Wright accepted the role of Senior White House Correspondent for CBN News, a position he embraces with gratitude and determination. His return to CBN News, a network he’s long admired, signifies an exciting new chapter in his career.

“As the Senior White House Correspondent, I’m going to have a busy few years ahead,” Wright said. “I’m grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to go to various parts of the world where the light is dim and to show how God’s light brings hope over despair, faith over fear and love over hate.”

Honored by the NABJ for His Impact

This year, Wright’s remarkable contributions to journalism were celebrated at the Salute to Excellence Awards Gala, hosted by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) in Tulsa. As the keynote speaker and an honoree, Wright was inducted into the Oklahoma Black Journalist Hall of Fame—an honor he described as “mind-blowing.”

“That’s a mind-blowing experience,” Wright said. “I’m very, very appreciative to NABJ for recognizing what’s happened for me, the God-given blessings that I’ve received.”

America’s Hope: His Lifelong Mission

Wright’s mission to spread hope extends beyond his reporting. As the host and executive producer of America’s Hope, a show dedicated to highlighting stories of resilience and courage, Wright is on a journey to reconnect audiences with the foundational values of faith and unity.

“America is divided as never before. Where can we find hope? How can we return to the values outlined by our Founding Fathers?” Wright asks. Through America’s Hope, he answers these questions by sharing uplifting narratives that transcend backgrounds and bring people together.

The show is more than just a platform—it’s a movement toward reconciliation and understanding. Wright’s ability to address tough issues while providing a path toward healing has made America’s Hope a beacon for audiences seeking inspiration in turbulent times.

A Message for Journalists and Audiences Alike

Wright challenges journalists to view their work as a calling, emphasizing the importance of balancing tough news with stories that inspire hope.

“We talk about the bad news, but we also try to find ways, even in despair, to highlight hope and light. Our world needs that, and America needs that,” he said.

His message is clear: journalism must do more than inform—it must inspire.

Reaching Audiences Across the Globe

Wright’s dedication to his craft extends to his work as a speaker, author, and recording artist. Whether through his music, keynote speeches, or storytelling, he remains committed to amplifying voices that often go unheard and creating a platform for unity.

As a husband, father, proud grandfather, and man of faith, Wright brings a wealth of experience and compassion to every role he undertakes. His career is a testament to the transformative power of storytelling to inspire change and hope.
