When Linda Kim walked away from her nine-to-five career in tech and endured a life-altering divorce, the last thing she expected was to find her calling in the world of Airbnb. What began as a leap of faith into arbitrage has since grown into Olive Gold Properties, a multi-faceted business that spans short-term rentals, coaching, and design. Today, Linda isn’t just running a thriving enterprise—she’s empowering others to achieve financial freedom on their own terms.
A Leap from Corporate Life to Entrepreneurship
Linda’s entrepreneurial journey began during a turbulent period. After years as a creative director in tech, she faced both personal and professional upheaval: a divorce and an unexpected layoff during the mass tech layoffs. While the challenges were daunting, she saw opportunity in Airbnb arbitrage. Despite skepticism from friends and the high cost of mentorship, she trusted her intuition and invested in a coaching program. Within 2 weeks of starting, she secured her first properties, laying the foundation for Olive Gold Collective.
“I didn’t want to go back to corporate,” she recalls. “I wanted to be my own boss. That decision to go all in changed everything.”
Overcoming Setbacks with Resilience
The early days weren’t without mistakes. Linda opened a property in a poor location, only to quickly pivot and find success in another. At the same time, she was navigating a contentious divorce, unexpected layoff, and responsibilities of being a single-income parent. Instead of letting these struggles derail her, she used them as fuel to keep building. Delegating and outsourcing became pivotal strategies, turning her business into the nearly passive-income model she teaches today.
Her persistence paid off, leading her to expand from California to Texas and establish herself as a thought leader in the Airbnb space.

The Turning Point: Mentorship, Media, and Momentum
A defining moment came when her mentor—a multimillionaire with years of experience—recognized her talent and encouraged her to launch a design business. Soon after, Linda found herself invited onto podcasts and conference stages, a trajectory she describes as life-changing.
“I had a goal of being on two podcasts my first year,” she says. “Within six months, I was invited on nine.”
Those appearances sparked collaborations, speaking opportunities, and even partnerships with seasoned entrepreneurs she admired. One particularly impactful moment came when she shared her story on stage in Miami alongside global speaker Christopher Kai, moving audience members to laughter and tears.
Building Brands and Inspiring Others
Today, Linda wears many hats: Airbnb entrepreneur, design consultant, coach, and speaker. Through BNB Mastery Society, she mentors others on how to build six-figure Airbnb businesses with just a few hours of work each week. Her story resonates with a broad audience including corporate professionals seeking independence, divorcees, entrepreneurs looking for additional passive income, and stay-at-home parents ready to create their own path.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is clear:
-
Invest in mentorship. “Every athlete has a coach. Business should be no different. It could make or break your career and help you avoid costly mistakes. I only launched my business quickly because of my mentor.”
-
Focus on consistency over results. Building a brand takes persistence, even when traction seems slow.
-
Get in the right rooms. Conferences, networking events, and surrounding yourself with like-minded people accelerate growth. It’s who you know, not only what you know.
-
Be authentic online. “I was late to social media, but once I started sharing my real story, doors opened and beautiful connections formed.”
Balancing Growth with Well-Being
Running three businesses doesn’t stop Linda from maintaining balance. Her days include workouts, golf, time outdoors, networking, and family moments. To manage stress, she turns to meditation, journaling, and therapy. “I only work on things I’m passionate about,” she explains, “which makes the challenges more enjoyable.”
Looking Ahead: Scaling and Collaborating
Linda is poised for expansion. She continues to grow her Airbnb portfolio nationwide while scaling her coaching business, which launched to success and has clients generating passive income as soon as the first couple of months. Upcoming speaking engagements nationwide—including Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, and California—will amplify her reach. She is also partnering with real estate entrepreneur Shane Seo—known for collaborations with Grant Cardone and Tai Lopez—to create new platforms for financial education.
“I never imagined a side hustle and simply saying yes to a mentorship could lead to this,” Linda says. “It’s been life changing and now I’m more excited than ever about the future and helping people change their lives.”
