A Leap of Faith in a Time of Uncertainty
When the world came to a standstill in 2020, most people pressed pause. Kristen Pitts pressed forward. Fueled by resilience, persistence, and faith, she founded KP Law Group in the middle of a global pandemic—a time when courts were closed, hearings were virtual, and fear loomed large.
“Clients still needed strong advocates,” she recalls. “So, we decided to build something meaningful.”
With two other determined women by her side, Pitts started the firm in a shared workspace. What began as a trio of visionaries has since grown into a thriving personal-injury law firm with thirteen team members serving clients across Georgia and neighboring states. Their brand mantra, “Fierce and Fearless Representation,” captures the balance of strength and compassion that defines their work.
Turning Challenges into Opportunities
Launching a law firm during a pandemic came with no roadmap. The rules of litigation changed overnight, and Pitts had to learn to adapt quickly. “We were conducting depositions through Zoom, creating new systems, and refining every process through trial and error,” she says.
Instead of retreating, the team embraced innovation. By staying flexible and leading with empathy, they turned uncertainty into opportunity. Those early lessons in adaptability and integrity became the foundation that powered KP Law Group’s rapid growth.
Relationships Over Revenue
One of the defining choices behind KP Law Group’s success was Pitts’ decision to prioritize relationships over revenue. “Our greatest growth didn’t come from marketing—it came from trust,” she explains.
By giving each client personal attention, the firm cultivated a reputation built on compassion and excellence. Referrals soon became the firm’s strongest source of new business. “Our clients became our biggest advocates,” she adds, reflecting on the firm’s organic rise.
Leading With Authenticity and Purpose
Pitts offers this advice to aspiring entrepreneurs: “Start where you are and stay consistent. Don’t wait for the perfect moment—it doesn’t exist.” She emphasizes that authenticity and integrity are the real differentiators in business.
“People will always remember how you made them feel,” she says. “Confidence and compassion will take you further than perfection ever will.”
Protecting Peace to Protect Purpose
For Pitts, success also means balance. The early days of KP Law Group were deeply personal—the women who helped her launch the firm were also new mothers. “Our kids grew up together, and that family-first culture remains a cornerstone of our firm,” she says.
She’s learned to delegate, trust her team, and take time to recharge. “Self-care isn’t optional—it’s essential. Burnout happens when you forget that you’re a person first and a professional second.”
Purposeful Growth and Giving Back
Looking ahead, KP Law Group is expanding its reach across the Southeast while maintaining its hallmark of personalized service. Pitts is also investing in mentorship and community empowerment, collaborating with organizations like Cool Girls and Kate’s Club to support women and young leaders.
“The future is about purposeful growth,” she says. “We’re building more than a firm—we’re building a legacy.”
