Exclusive Interview with Julio (Ricky) Gonzalez, RMIP™
Today we’d like to introduce you to Julio (Ricky) Gonzalez, RMIP™.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
In 1999, Julio (Ricky) Gonzalez decided to start his career as a Financial Advisor/Stock Broker. He started with a great company, AXA Advisors, and quickly became one of the top producers of the Miami Agency. He worked with wealthy business owners in the Steel Manufacturing and Wholesale Industry, as his father was the owner of one of Miami’s biggest Structural Steel Manufacturing and Wholesaling Companies. He decided to get more experience, so he also became a Qualified Plan Specialist to help the small to mid sized business set up their 401(k), SIMPLE IRA’s. etc. Helping people meet their Retirement Goals was always Ricky’s number one priority. After 10 years as an Agency Owner, life happened and he lost his 2nd sibling due to Cancer, so Pinnacle Financial had a wake up call: Make Sure No Retiree will ever be disappointed or underserved when it comes to their Retirement Assets and their Health Insurance Needs. Thus specializing in the very confusing world of Medicare and Retirement Plan with guarantees. That has been our mission for the last 10 years, make are our clients retain their hard earned money, while participating on the upside, as well as making sure Pinnacle’s clients have the best health insurance with Medicare that their budget can handle.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
This is life; you face problems every day no matter how perfect you think you and your life are. Problems are there and they aren’t going anywhere unless you face them and solve them. Acknowledging your problems, solving them, and getting on with your life is better than making it all a big deal. Your problems shouldn’t become the source of sorrow, hurt, and grief for you. While getting on with our life, we may encounter plenty of barriers and issues that might distract us from our real path. Sometimes we don’t have our full potential to deal with the issues but if we know what we are dealing with, we can do better. Once you have a clear perspective of what problems you have in your life, you can deal with them in a better way.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
the details of their financial life as it moves forward. We will learn about their history, and help them clarify their goals, values and dreams, rather than simply inquiring about their balance sheet. We will develop a personal insight into their lives as well as the role money plays for them. By adding our professional financial planning and investment management expertise and wisdom, we will serve as a coach to assist in reaching their personal goals and recognizing financial peace of mind. We will also seek opportunities to better the financial planning industry by educating other financial advisors across the country. By sharing our knowledge, we will help create an environment where more clients can be effectively served by an increasing number of advisors offering comprehensive financial planning and adhering to a fiduciary standard.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
The secret to dealing with life’s problems is to realize that they are illusions of our imagination. Sure, they feel very real. I’m not denying that. Imagine that you’re driving your car merrily down the highway. Then, someone cuts you off. You might fly off the handle or you might not. It will depend on how you perceive the situation. It’s an excellent example of how some people create something to complain about where others are completely fine. Life will always have “problems” and the way to deal with them is to let them be. You don’t have to try to analyze, fantasize or figure out your problems. Let them figure themselves out. The more you try, the more you fuel the problem and the more miserable you become. This doesn’t mean you need to stop solving problems. Instead, you just have to stop the compulsive worrying and fear-mongering inside your head.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
I believe success is defined by who you are and the person you aspire to be. Success is measured differently for each person. What may be a small accomplishment for one person can be a huge milestone for another. Someone once told me treat all your accomplishments the same, no matter how small they may seem. In today’s society, people are always comparing each other’s success but the goals you set for yourself can only be achieved through your own hard work and perseverance. Be proud of what you do so that no one can belittle your goals and dreams. Whenever I achieve a new objective, I am grateful because now I know that I am one step closer to conquering my overall goal. We all want to be successful and everyone is more than capable of achieving it. Ultimately, you alone define success and that is what gives you your own sense of purpose and motivation to conquer the obstacles that are ahead.
What’s next for you?
