Fifteen years in international airport accounting, state recognition for professionalism, and an ambitious new project in artificial intelligence. Our interview subject, Jahan Gylyjova, draws on her years of practical financial management experience to make a difference by planning the launch of a technology company. This and more are covered in our interview.
– Jahan, I would like to ask you about your childhood and whether it influenced your future career choice?
I was born in Dashoguz, Turkmenistan. I grew up in a working-class family. My mother worked as a salesperson, and my father was a car mechanic. From an early age, I was instilled with the values of work, taught responsibility, and taught the importance of financial stability. I know many children enjoyed spending time with their parents at work, and I was one of them. I enjoyed helping my mother in the store, and this inspired me to study finance, which later led me to accounting.
– When did you decide for sure that you wanted to connect your life with accounting and finance?
After graduating from School No. 10 in 1998, I entered Vocational School No. 2 in Dashoguz, majoring in Accounting and Operational Technology in a Bank. I’ve always been fascinated by numbers, and I began studying the structure of financial flows. I wanted to work fully with organizations through precise calculations. Accounting has been my life’s work.
– How did your career develop?
I started as an assistant to the chief accountant at the individual enterprise “Diyar.” I then gained experience at the Uzboy hotel complex and as the head of the HR department at the Potrebsoyuz repair and construction plant.
Since 2009, I’ve been working at Dashoguz International Airport. I started as the airport manager’s secretary, then transferred to the accounting department as a cashier. I later became an accountant-cashier, and later an accountant. I was awarded the second category of accountant.
This path allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the financial structure of a large infrastructure project, where the accuracy of calculations directly impacts operational stability.
– You’ve received several official commendations. What does this recognition mean to you?
In 2016, 2018, and 2024, I received letters of gratitude from the Turkmenhowayollary service and agency for my diligent work. For me, this confirms my professional reliability and the quality of my work in a complex industry.
– What is the next stage of your professional growth?
My goal for the coming years is to advance my knowledge to the next level. I plan to master international financial systems, obtain a license, and apply my accumulated experience to larger-scale projects.
At the same time, I am working on creating my own company, Jahan Smart Solutions LLC.
– Tell us more about your entrepreneurial project.
The company will develop and commercialize an AI-powered accounting and financial management platform for businesses of all sizes in the United States, from small businesses to large corporations.
The Jahan Smart Solutions platform is designed as a unified financial operations system. Accessible through an intuitive web-based control panel, it will integrate AI-powered financial process automation with a three-tier business model.
Users will be offered three service levels, allowing them to scale functionality based on their needs. Small businesses will be able to automate basic accounting and reporting processes, medium-sized companies will receive advanced analytical tools, and large organizations will be able to utilize comprehensive solutions for building a financial management strategy.
– How does your experience in the aviation industry help in developing such a platform?
Working at an international airport gave me a wealth of knowledge and understanding of complex financial flows, internal controls, multi-level reporting, and responsibility for data accuracy. In the aviation industry, errors are costly. Every calculation impacted operational processes.
This experience formed the basis for the platform’s concept. I understand the real-world challenges of accountants and CFOs, so I focus on automation, which is what all organizations are currently striving for.
-Sounds interesting. It perfectly addresses today’s business needs. I’m sure your project could have significant economic impact.
Yes, financial transparency and process automation directly impact business. The platform will help companies reduce costs, minimize errors, and improve forecasting and strategic planning.
– So you consider yourself one of those who are not afraid to collaborate with AI, right?
Of course! Using artificial intelligence in accounting will speed up data processing and improve the accuracy of financial decisions, which is especially important for companies operating in a competitive environment.
-Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself as a certified accounting professional and the head of a technology company offering innovative financial management solutions. My goal is to bring practical benefits to people, using my knowledge and skills.
– Jahan, thank you for the interesting conversation. I wish you success in all your endeavors.
