When you speak with Dr. Theresa A. Moseley, you instantly feel the calm strength of a woman who walks boldly in her purpose. A decorated educator, Army veteran, global speaker, and award-winning peace advocate, Dr. Moseley has transformed a lifelong calling into a powerful movement for healing, hope, and humanity. Her journey is not only a blueprint for purpose-driven entrepreneurship—it’s a call to action for every Black woman leader determined to change the world.
And what better time to spotlight her journey than during Black Business Month, where we honor those turning their passion into purpose—and their purpose into impact.
A Purpose Revealed in Childhood
Dr. Moseley’s purpose began whispering to her at just six years old. Sitting in her first-grade classroom, she watched her teacher command the room and knew in her heart: “I want to be a leader.” Those seeds of purpose were nurtured in the long summer walks she took with her great-grandmother—conversations that planted the truth that her voice was a gift.
It wasn’t just about speaking. It was about using her voice to help people, uplift communities, and stand for peace.

From Army Boots to Boardrooms
After high school, Dr. Moseley joined the Army, where her natural leadership rose to the surface during basic training. She later pursued higher education—earning not one but three degrees—and spent the next 27 years shaping minds in the education system, rising from classroom teacher to high school principal and central office leader.
But even as she climbed the ranks, her heart stayed close to the community. The tragic loss of two students to violence ignited a new mission: No More Violence. She channeled her grief into advocacy, writing the book “Creating Ambassadors of Peace – 16 Steps,” and launching her company, TAM Creating Ambassadors of Peace LLC.
Building a Business of Peace
What began as a personal mission is now a global brand rooted in legacy, healing, and transformational leadership. With 25 books (and counting), international keynote stages, and a commitment to soft skills development, Dr. Moseley’s platform empowers leaders to lead with empathy, clarity, and purpose.
Her signature event, the Passion Purpose Peace Summit, started as a free virtual gathering. Today, it’s a full-scale movement. With over 60 speakers, global attendance, and an awards program that celebrates unsung heroes, the summit has become a global celebration of servant leadership. This year, the summit takes place during International Peace Week on September 20, 2025, with 95 honorees being recognized for their work in service, impact, and peacebuilding.
As a proud member of the Black Door Society—a sisterhood of powerhouse women committed to equity, excellence, and elevation—Dr. Moseley continues to expand her circle of influence. She’ll be taking the stage in September at a special Black Door Society event, where she’ll speak on the power of purpose, peace, and living out your divine assignment.
Her newest book, Peace Within – The Home, The School, The Community, The World, is a timely guidebook for navigating today’s turbulent times through the lens of personal responsibility and collective peace.
Accolades with a Mission
Dr. Moseley has been recognized across the globe—from London’s Outstanding Leadership Award to Global Peace Leader 2025 in India, and the Entrepreneurship Award from the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry. In June, she received the prestigious Fluxx Award for Leadership and Peace Advocacy in Hong Kong. But ask her what means most, and she’ll humbly reflect on her father’s final words after her college graduation:
“There is no glass ceiling for you. You are smart, and you can do anything you put your mind to.”
Those words became fuel. They carried her through loss, through military service, through boardrooms, and through every barrier faced by Black women entrepreneurs with bold visions and global dreams.
The Power of Soft Skills and Self-Discovery
When asked what made the difference in her journey, Dr. Moseley names communication, empathy, and adaptability—three soft skills she believes every leader must master. She even co-authored The Essential Soft Skills for Effective Leadership – Steps to Leading With Grace, offering practical guidance for leaders navigating complexity with courage.
She’s also a champion of lifelong learning, urging organizations to offer differentiated professional development that meets people where they are.
A Shoutout to Legacy
While she credits mentors, military training, and education, Dr. Moseley shines a special light on her great-grandmother and father, who both affirmed her gift and taught her how to nurture it. From Girl Scouts to the Army to the United Nations, her journey is a testimony of legacy, leadership, and love.
“Everyone is born with a gift,” she says. “When you discover your gift, passion, and purpose—everything aligns. That’s the key to inner peace. And that’s what the world needs now.”
